Lucknow Super Giants suffered a 54-run defeat against Punjab Kings in their sixth fixture of the Indian Premier League 2026 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
Having elected to bowl first, the Super Giants endured a challenging outing with the ball as Punjab Kings posted a formidable 254/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Manimaran Siddharth and Prince Yadav were the standout performers, claiming two wickets apiece.
In reply, Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni provided a positive start with a 61-run opening stand during the powerplay. Rishabh Pant then added impetus with a brisk 43 off 23 balls, including four sixes, in an effort to keep the chase alive.
However, with the required rate escalating, the target proved beyond reach as the innings concluded at 200/5 after 20 overs.
The result represents another setback for LSG, who will aim to regroup and bounce back in their upcoming fixture against Rajasthan Royals on April 22 at BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium.
