IPL 2026 Update: SRH Draft in Coetzee for Injured Payne

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have roped in Gerald Coetzee as a replacement for David Payne for the remainder of the TATA IPL 2026 season. Payne, who featured in two matches and picked up as many wickets, has been ruled out due to an ankle injury.

The South African right-arm pacer brings valuable international experience, having represented his country in 4 Tests, 14 ODIs and 18 T20Is, claiming a total of 67 wickets across formats.

Coetzee is no stranger to the IPL, having previously played 14 matches for Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI), where he has taken 15 wickets. He joins the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad for a fee of INR 2 Crore.
