RCB vs GT IPL 2026: Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will aim to bounce back to winning form when they face Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans in match No. 33 of the IPL 2026 season at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday. Both teams enter this contest on the back of defeats against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians respectively, with GT suffering a heavy 99-run loss at home in their previous outing.
The IPL 2025 champions remain in a strong position, currently sitting third on the table with 8 points so far. A victory on Friday night could propel them into second place on the points table, thanks to their superior net run-rate.
Rajat Patidar’s team features a strong middle-order unit, with explosive hitters like Tim David and Romario Shepherd, alongside their captain, who has been striking at over 200 this season. Speaking at the pre-match press conference in Bengaluru on Thursday, Tim David said, “We have a solid group and as a middle-order batter in T20 cricket, you can’t be expected to finish every game. If you go in with that mindset, it becomes very tough, so we just focus on playing freely and enjoying our roles.”
