Last season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) struggled to make the most of their home conditions at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, managing very little advantage on familiar turf. However, this year has not been too different in terms of pitch behaviour, but RCB have shown strong adaptability, securing three wins from their four home matches so far.
On Friday, they will aim to finish their Bengaluru leg on a high with a win that could help them stay inside the top two, before moving into a stretch of away games followed by a shift to their second home venue in Raipur in May.
RCB have enjoyed a five-day break since their defeat to Delhi Capitals (DC). While the first-choice squad used the time to recover and reset for the next phase of IPL 2026, the remaining players were put through rigorous match simulations and high-intensity training sessions something rarely possible in the packed schedule.
The break also came at the right time for Virat Kohli, who was dealing with a minor ankle issue. Although he was uncertain ahead of the DC clash, he ultimately featured in the game and has since had time to recover and regain full fitness.
